Resolved Question: How liberal is Finland?
I'm considering moving to Finland in the next year, but I'd like to hear from people who have lived there for an extended period of time.
How liberal is the country?
I know they have the equivelant of gay marriage, but it's under a different name. How is this topic viewed by the population?
I know they have a lot of Lutherans, what is the church's stance on gay marriage, drugs, etc?
How prominent and vocal is the church?
How is the church viewed by the general population?
What is the general opinion on drugs, including lesser ones like marijuana?
How is alcohol and tobacco treated?
How big is the nightscene? (clubs, bars)
How harsh is the justice system?
How conservative is the population when it comes to the subject of sex? Are they obsessed with it like North America, or do they have more traditional values and views?
How is the government viewed? Do people support it, or do they feel those in politics are nothing but crooks? Are scandals frequent?
