49ers set franchise yards record, beat Bills
Joe Montana never did it. Neither did Steve Young or Y.A. Tittle. Even the architect of the West Coast offense, Bill Walsh, could only imagine such a massive mark.

Deion Sanders said he wasn't worried. Joe Montana went in with his game face on and Jordin Sparks just hoped sand did not end up in her eyes.

Suppose Tom Brady went 5-0 in the Super Bowl, would he have been considered greater than Montana?

Resolved Question: Why are there so many Joe
To each his own but Montana's job like all QB on any team was to win the Superbowl, Is that not what every team in the NFL wants? Joe was the best, and before anyone cries Jerry Rice remember Montana won 4 and only had Rice for 2, He beat Elway, Marino, He didnt lose a Superbowl!!!!! So why do some people think he was not great? @spiderman, Terry was a fantastic QB no doubt!! look at the stats, Bradshaw,27,879 passing yards,212 TDs Montana 40,551 passing yards, 273 TDs Bradshaw 210 picks, Montana 139 picks @spiderman, Terry was a fantastic QB no doubt!! look at the stats, Bradshaw,27,879 passing yards,212 TDs Montana 40,551 passing yards, 273 TDs Bradshaw 210 picks, Montana 139 picks

Resolved Question: Aaron Rodgers is a better
You're open to debate clutch ability, leadership, on-field demeanor, and whatever intangibles you want to discuss that make NFL players great. But as far as raw quarterback talent goes (accuracy, arm-strength, reading the defense, field vision), Aaron Rodgers is just flat out better than Joe Montana.
Joe Montana: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yr9GWOPA4yg
Aaron Rodgers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fP1H1O6QUqw
No need to discuss the different rules and defenses of the eras, you can clearly see everything in the videos above. In 1896 the Olympic 100m Gold medalist, Tom Burke, was the fastest man in the world after finishing the race in just 12 seconds. In 2008 Usain Bolt ran that same distance in just 9.69 seconds; in that same race Darvis Patton finished last at 10.03 seconds. Darvis Patton absolutely burned Tom Burke. Explain to me with film evidence why Joe Montana is a better quarterback than Aaron Rodgers. He's less accurate, his throwing mechanics aren't as good, he can't throw the ball as far, he doesn't beat the defense with the hard count, he hardly ever looks beyond his first two options, and he looks like a dunce in the pocket. @Sam:
Brett Favre has a 16 game stretch where he accounted for 52 TD's. Aaron Rodgers and Matt Flynn have a 16 game stretch where the two of them accounted for 55 TD's. @Sam (the one who isn't a top contributor):
I did some googling, and apparently I've won more Tae Kwon Do trophies than Chuck Norris. I could probably kick his ***. @Carolina Panthers:
"Tough, no doubt, but not the toughest. Unfortunately [his] career is contemporary to Hines Ward who wins any positional toughness comparison by a mile. Ward's a safety someone decided to put at wideout. This upcoming season Ward is retired so Smith has a case although I'd have to go with breakout Jordy Nelson. Nelson's a physical beast that can shove a DB like a sack of potatoes."
I never said Jordy Nelson was tougher than Hines Ward. And also, the rest of my answer explained why I thought Steve Smith will go into the Hall of Fame. @Craziee Panda:
I watched both those videos. Joe Montana can't throw the ball with much velocity, he's a bit too stiff in the pocket, and he throws it to his receivers instead of leading them with the football. Montana has never made a back shoulder pass of the same caliber that Aaron Rodgers can.
What you're admiring are the intangibles. Things that can't be quantified or ranked. Montana's intangibles, not his skill at the quarterback position are what make him one of the greatest players of all time. @devilishblueyes:
Aaron Rodgers lacks composure in the pocket? I don't think you know what you're talking about. Rodgers is one of the coolest, most relaxed quarterbacks in football. Are you aware that Aaron Rodgers has a quarterback rating over 130 when blitzed? Are you aware that Aaron Rodgers has the best playoff passer rating of all time? Pocket composure is one of Aaron's signature qualities.
