Resolved Question: Gilles Villeneuve and
Gilles had 67 races he won 6 of them, he never won the WDC...
Stirling had 66 races he won 16 of them, he never won thd WDC... (not bad by any means)
You don't need to win 7 WDC to be considered the greatest but you gotta at least win it once to be considered in "The greatest F1 drivers category"
Giles had this one race with Arnoux that everybody keeps talking about how this was racing back in the days and how racing these days suck... People dont realize that this didn't happen at every single race back then, overtaking then was as hard as it is now... One good interview was with Keke Rosberg saying that F1 racing now and F1 racing then is not that different.
Moss failed to beat his contemporaries and also Stirling is like a Dirty Old Man, just about every interview he keeps talking about what what made him want to race and that of course is to score with the ladies... He keeps talking about girls every single time, those who have watched many interviews of Moss know what I'm talking about, He always says he did it for the danger and the girls... And lets not forget about his analogies involving "Prostitutes" "Womens Breasts" "Virgins" all that good stuff...
Both these men failed to beat thier contemporaries, in that light I cannot consider them greats... We had a misunderstanding, what I meant was that they are great but I cannot consider them in "The greatest F1 drivers category" because they failed to win the WDC, the goal every F1 driver aspires to achieve. I believe you have to win a WDC to be considered one of the greatest.
You cannot be the greatest if you come in second and not winning the WDC basically means you are second because you were never the top dog... The great philosopher driver Ricky Bobby always says "if you're not first, you're last" LOL.
By the way Clarkson in Top Gear even considered Villeneuve the greatest driver to ever race in F1 but he did change his mind to Senna...
I respect everyone's opinion...
